Diana Weiler's "Moment"
100% handsculpted by the FABULOUS miniature sculptor Diana Weiler. Diana has moved on to other forms of art so she is no longer sculping her life-like miniature people. I purchased this from her in 2001. I am parting with it only because we are moving to another state and I have to weed out my BULDGING collection. Very rare to find anyone willing to part with her work. This is a scale minature 1" to 1'. Truly precious is the girl that witnesses the fairies into the sewing trunk. You will love it. Interesting Color Combination
One of the fun things about my work is that I am always getting to touch and feel pretty fabrics and look at all the colors. As I am putting my customers orders together I run across color combination that I would not always "see". Or if I get a new fabric even though I may not have time to make something of it I sometimes just play with the items. This combination started with the olive silk taffeta (top left) and the olive silk velvet(far right). I then got in the chartreuse velvet (bottom). I mushed thru my stock and found the stripe silk and the ecru lace....then the variegated buds and bows and the velvet leaves. unfortunately the glare of digital photography has changed the colors are a bit..so I am not sure my vision is coming across. They really do look luscious in person. What would you make? I am sending the fabrics off to a special friend. Maybe we will see them turned into a masterpiece some time soon.

Pleaters
There are some tools on the doll makers work bench that are a must have. Pleaters are one of the the must haves. I carry 3 sizes of the Pretty Pleater and one of the Perfect Pleater. Here are some samples of dolls that I have made using "pleated" lace and trims. This will show you the difference in each pleater. I have also use the 1/2" and 1/4" Pretty Pleater to pleat hair for Fairies and for the 20's Marcel Wave bob or for child's hair styles. The key to using the pleater especially for hair is that after steaming make sure it is dry and cool. Keep in mind that if you make bigger dolls the dolls pictured are doll house size 6" and under for scale.
